There are many reasons people love these old trucks, especially the Squarebodies. These trucks remind us of the good ‘ole days; time spent with loved ones and the pursuit of the American dream. America’s young generation even recognizes the sentimental value of the trucks and no one loved them more than Wesley Coty.
In 2023, Wesley bought his very own Squarebody to the Squarebody Rally, a 1973 round eye Chevy. Spending his free time tinkering and working on his truck with his dad, Timothy, was one his favorite pastimes. Wesley brought his truck to the Shin Pond Squarebody Rally last year, showing off all of his hard work.
Tragically, in March of 2024, Wesley passed away in a snowmobile accident. He loved his family, his community and his truck. Wesley and all he stood for hasn’t been and won’t be forgotten.
In his honor and memory, we are proud to present the
Wesley Coty Memorial Scholarship.
In 2024 SOMe raised $500, and will match an additional $500 for a total of $1,000 to be granted to a local student enrolled in an automotive related field.
